About Our Church

See That You Serve Him with All Your Heart-Might-Mind-Strength

Acts 2:38

Shiloh Temple was founded in May 1946 by Elder Floyd E. Pitts along with his wife, Mother Esther Pitts as he was led of the spirit of God to come to Martins Ferry, OH on N. 2nd Street.  In 1954 the church moved to a larger building on South Second Street, Martins Ferry.  God continued to bless and many souls were added to the Kingdom of God through his preaching and teaching how to be saved from sin.  We moved to our present location here at 117 First Street in Bridgeport, OH in the mid 60’s as work began on the present Ohio Route 7.  Elder Pitts and the beautiful brick building became a landmark of the Ohio Valley. Out of his creed, discipline, rules and doctrine, many were called to the ministry.  God continued to bless his work and in 1976 he retired due to health reasons and one of his sons in the gospel, Elder James M. Agnew, Jr. became the second pastor of Shiloh Temple.  Under Pastor Agnew’s leadership, the church continued to abound in the works of the Lord.
